The new model introduced by ford has a new safety feature called (ARP). Many of them are not familiar with this new system and some of reviewers has not tested it. It is an active rollover protection system that recognizes impending rollover and selectively applies brakes to resist it(that's sounds crazy😲).
ARP system is patented to ford technologies LLC, and its similar principles to reduce chance of vehicles roll-over has been used by other automotive manufacturers like bosch, volvo etc.... Volvo perhaps is the first manufactures to incorporate rollover mitigation system in it's suv, and it's called Roll-over protection system (ROPS).
But how it works?
Assume you are in a car equipped with ARP systems and thinking about girlfriends or texting in a phone while driving. Suddenly a truck in front of you changed in to your lane and the bad part is your car speed is way more than your truck so you do a hard turn to change the lane. Your car tends to roll over but ARP detects the roll over and cut out the throttle applies brakes to appropriate wheels to gain stability and you are back to the sense. To accomplish this, the on board computer uses data from the inertial measurment unit to determine when a vehicle is in rollover condition independent of yaw rate and vehicle control.
Ford brave move to introduce ARP system in budget hatchbacks in india make indian feel "someone is bothered about our safety".
